Migratory Cover

Overview

A migratory cover is similar to a telescoping cover, however it does not have sides: only a front, back, and top. When these are used, no inner cover is necessary: a hive tool can be used to pry the top off directly from the side.

They were developed for commercial beekeepers to allow hives to sit side-by-side when shipping the bees somewhere for pollination.

These covers do not provide good weather protection for the sides of the hive. If you are not shipping your hives around for pollination services, it is best to use a telescoping cover.
